HER Film Festival is an initiative by Cinetree, a film club with a mission, and development organization Simavi, aimed at raising awareness about the position of women worldwide. Through a selection of seven films and documentaries, HER Film Festival provides a platform for stories of women making a difference globally.

Cinetree and Simavi hope to inspire women to stand strong together through these narratives. The films will be available online for everyone (free) from March 8th to March 17th, 2024, on

herfilmfestival.nl.

Hanna Verboom, actress and founder of the film platform Cinetree, states, "We believe in the power of a story. When you get to share your story and listen to another's, a profound form of connection emerges. It's a crucial foundation for any positive change. That's why, in collaboration with Simavi, we are sharing the stories of women worldwide during this fourth edition, aiming to celebrate collaboration among women. In non-Western cultures, it's more common for women to work together, and there's much we can learn from that. With this principle in mind, we've selected the most captivating films and documentaries. So, let's dive in!"

Film Selection

This year's HER Film Festival presents a selection of seven inspiring films and documentaries that center around the strength of women. The film lineup has been curated with the assistance of a dedicated group of curators and experts, including actors Thekla Reuten and Ayla Satijn, writer Joy Delima, and women's empowerment expert Nancy Poleon.

HER Film Festival will take place online from March 8th to March 17th, 2024, on www.herfilmfestival.nl. Those interested can register for free in advance to stay informed about the program and the festival's commencement.
